This ladies and gentlemen is my second piece and is going to be my work for the next couple of months. Enjoy! Prelude: Revealance Or4cle had under-estimated the sheer importance of the mission he was assigned. He thought it was a joke, but apparently it wasn't. When the Colonel came up to him and gave him his orders, he nearly had to laugh "It's a suicide misson, sir!" he had said. But the Colonel just replied "Yeah. That's why you're going soldier." OK, I had to admit that I is the 3rd best MGS3 player for my great diversion tactics but this is nuts, he thought. I had to just walk into that ageing piece of crap of a LAN cafe, grab those files then haul ass out, but Pappy never mentioned the freaking guards on watch all over the place! Now he was running for his life, trying to escape the pursuing guards on the rooftops. Blasts of energy were pelting the spots around him as he ran like Mario with his butt on fire. "GET BACK HERE!" roared a guard before he fired more rounds off. Using all that training and parkour practice, Or4cle jumped down onto an apartment ladder then onto a hood of a car, hid behind the dumpster at the end of the street and held his breath as the guards looked down onto the alley. "Damn it, we lost him. Go tell the boss." said the leader. They walked off into the night. Finally unleashing a small sigh, Or4cle got up and started to walk down the street when he saw something. A brief flash of light. It took him a micro second to know what it was and a split second later to duck before the Super Scope's laser blew him to pieces. "Shit, shit, shit!" he said to himself and then he dashed to cover pulling out his Dreamcast Lightgun and sending shots towards the direction that the blast came from. Another round flew though the air and blew up the car next to him, sending him flying through the air and into a shop window. "Ah, fuck." he moaned. A shard of glass had imbedded into his hand, blood pouring everywhere. Suddenly, the shop lights came on and the shop-owner came busting through the back door, brandishing a shotgun. "Hey, what the fuck are you doing? Get out of my fucking shop!" he yelled. Or4cle knew he was caught in between getting killed by bullets and getting killed by micro, so he got up. "Look sorry sir. I just got-!" he tried to explain, before a blast from a lightgun tore a sixth hole through his head. "HOLY FUCK!" said the store-owner, taking cover behind the counter. After a few seconds, the man looked up to see who shot the poor kid. Three men and a girl stood at the window, looking down at the body. One of the men was wearing a black hat, long black coat and wore a silver tie. "Grab the files and destroy them. We want no-one to know that we exist." The man said. "Yes, sir." said the girl, grabbing the disc from Or4cle's pocket. She spots the store-owner. "Sir, there's somebody behind the counter." The last thing the old man saw was the man in black suddenly appearing behind him, raising a toy gun to his head and pulling the trigger. Observing from the rooftops, a figure watches. "Now the gaming world shall be plagued forever, for he and his servants are here... and there's nothing to stop Teh_Admin now." they said. The figure then vanished, leaving the scene without a trace. Chapter 1: Beginnings Stryker woke up with a start. He only had a few hours sleep after having a Shadowrun long-nighter, but this wasn't unusual. Being the pro player he was, he wouldn't really spend most of his time outside or even awake during the day. It's all about pwning noobs and taking names, he told everyone he knew. But they all just looked at him funny. Stryker pulled the sheets off, grabbed the nearest pile of clothes he had and stumbled into the shower. After getting dressed and scoffing down breakfast, he looked at the time. "10:59? Shit!" he exclaimed. He forgot that he had a Dawn of War tourney at 11:30, so he made sure every door was locked, turned everything off, grabbed his PC, hopped in the car and sped off to The Hellhole. The Hellhole was a popular LAN cafe that everyone went to, if not to play games then to check out everyone's playing style. Stryker pulled up to the parking spot and rushed inside. The place was packed so he had to wait ten minutes before he could sign up. While waiting, he spotted Zyr0gen, a fellow gamer and friend. "Hey, Zy!" Stryker yelled to him. "Hey, Stryker, how's it going?" Zy asked. "Not bad, just waiting to pwn this noobfest." he replied. After finally getting registered, Stryker found his table and plugged in his PC. While he was waiting, he practiced by playing a few skirmishes against computer opponents, 7 v 1. He schooled each opponent over and over, until a staff member finally connected him to the network. "Attention, the Dawn of War tournament is about to begin," said the announcer. "This is the preliminary round. Players, find your opponents and begin." Suddenly, the whole place went quiet as each game went underway. Stryker just smiled when he found out he was playing against Imperial Guard for the first round. "Oh, it's over for you buddy." he murmured in a sly tone. The instant the match began, Stryker ordered his servitor to build a Chapel-Barracks and his Stronghold to train Scouts. After a short wait, he moved the Scouts to capture the two adjacent Strategic Points, built two more Servitors, ordered them to build Plasma Generators and got his final Servitor to build a Listening Post on one of the newly captured points. Time passed and more units were built. Stryker's opponent made the occasional rush, but they were thwarted. Eventually, after 2 minutes of gameplay, Stryker had annihilated the other player. He went up the ladder, until he eventually made it to the Finals. His opponent was a man with slick black emo hair going down his face, wore a green jacket and had torn jeans. Stryker noticed that he played Tau throughout the whole tourney, killing everyone with mad rushes with Kroot Carnivores and Krootoxes. Stryker decided to play defensively and built six Heavy Bolter Turrets around his base and positioned Space Marine squads all armed with missile launchers to take out any heavy armor units. After seventeen minutes, the battle was at a draw with both players only down to their HQ, 3 squads of inf's and at least two tanks. While his opponent was rebuilding his main base, Stryker decided to build another base on the left side of his opponent. After getting the secondary force assembled, he ordered the remaining units at his main base to assault the enemy base. His opponent tried to counter this offensive, when Stryker unleashed his attack group of Terminators, Assault Marines and Land Raiders from the second base and destroyed the noob's buildings, thus winning him the game AND the tournament. As Stryker went on stage to get his prize money, someone at the back watched on. "Hey, sir... is that him?" asked the young kid next to him. "Yes, private, that's him." The figure replied. He watched Stryker grab his stuff and head out the door, when suddenly the kid that he beat and another man followed. "Follow them. Make sure the those punks stay away from the chosen one for a long time." he ordered. The kid primed his weapon, a DC Hais w/ Kickback Lightgun, and rushed out of the building. Chapter 2: Enlistment "Man, that was so sweet when you attacked that guy's base, distracting him long enough so you can bombard his base with your Commander and cleaning it all up by deploying your Terminators." said Zy, as he and Stryker walked away from the Hellhole. It was around 12 to 1:30 in the middle of the night and barely anybody could be seen except for the occasional car or two. "Yeah, although he caught on and began siphoning Guardsmen through his Listening Post to counter," Stryker admitted. "Only to be utterly decimated by my Land Speed-." He was cut short when he blasted from behind, which sent him into the dumpster at the alleyway entrance. Fading in and out of consciousness for a few seconds, he saw only mere glimpses of his attackers, the punk he just beat and a buddy of his, take out Zy with strange blue energy, move towards him, then lying on the ground in front of a 16-year-old wielding a lightgun in the shape of a Desert Eagle with a smoking barrel just before he finally blacked out... After sleeping for what seemed like a couple of hours, Stryker opened his eyes and shot upright, only to find that he wasn't in the alleyway, yet in a hospital bed in a room containing a sink, first aid cabinet on the wall, a gaming suite in the corner and his clothes on the bench next to him. He pulled off the sheets, grabbed his clothes on and walked outside into a hallway. On the door of the room was a gold sign saying 'Regen Room.' "Okay... he murmured to himself, wondering where the hell he was. He looked around and couldn’t see anybody, so he strolled down the hall. As he was walking, he occasionally walked past a couple of rooms that had several people, mostly teenagers, yet they were typing really fast on keyboards or console controllers. He finally saw somebody and asked where he was, but they just stared at him oddly and murmured, 'Noob.' as they were walking away. After three attempts at asking, Stryker gave up and flopped down onto a chair. "Christ... Where in the fuck am I?" he asked himself. Suddenly, a teenage girl, about his age, walked up to him and said, "Hey, are you Stryker?" She wore a black top that had the phrase '-i pwn noobs-' on the front, jeans, had long brown hair and blue eyes. Stryker couldn't help to think that she was very beautiful. "Yep, that's me." He replied in a suddenly very confident tone. "Follow me." The girl said. She led him through a few hallways, through a tunnel and up a flight of stairs to arrive at a door with a 'No Noobs' sign on it. "Wait, you gotta be kidding me. Is he actually...?" Stryker asked, realizing where they were. "Uh-huh. He's expecting you." The girl answered. She opened the door and ushered Stryker inside. In the small room was a man with his hood up, playing four games at the same time on an ancient PC. "Thank you, Sera. You may leave." He said with a deep and wise tone in his voice. "Yes, Masterer." Sera said, shutting the door behind her. Damn it, Stryker thought. I might ask for her Friend Code later. The man stood slowly. "So, I guess you've taken a likeness to her, haven't you?" said the man. Stryker blushed and looked at the figure with an alarmed look on his face. "How'd you...?" "The way you were constantly glancing at her gave it away." He replied. The figured turned to face Stryker, who couldn't do anything except grin. "It's obvious who I am," said teh_masterer. "Welcome to Gamer Army HQ. What you have experienced has now made a part of a war that's been going on since 1951. Do you wish to fight against those who endanger you and everyone you know?" Stryker's decision came the very instant he thought of what happened to Zy. "Yes." By K1d_P5ycho http://forums.purepwnage.com/index.php?showtopic=56129
